UStec provides homeowners with the wiring infrastructure they need to distribute and connect video, data, and voice signals for home entertainment and home networking.

Founded in 1992, UStec pioneered the development of structured wiring for homes, becoming one of the first residential structured wiring network providers in the country. Toward the end of the 1990s, with the exploding popularity of computers and the Internet, UStec recognized a significant opportunity to wire houses like offices — making it possible for home computers to easily share files, printers, and Web access accounts.

In January of 2007, UStec was acquired by On-Q/Legrand. The combined company is now composed of the three founding entities of the Structured Wiring industry - Greyfox, On-Q, and UStec. Joined by many other companies under the Legrand banner in North America, On-Q is now poised to reinvent the market, introducing the products that define the new industry of Home Systems.

Today, UStec's award-winning structured wiring systems, the ceLAN and iLAN Series tecCenters, are being updated by On-Q. The ProLAN Series tecCenters are now paired up with Vantage/Legrand to better meet the needs of, and to continue its leading edge within, the custom markets.
